How to Donate to Charity by Just Surfing the Web as Usual with Tab for a Cause

When we surf the web, we tend to do it for selfish reasons. Whether it's on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, or Wikipedia?we're trying to connect with people, voice our opinions, watch funny videos, or do research for that 12-page paper due tomorrow. Whatever it is, it's usually to benefit ourselves.

Well, what if you could not only benefit yourself while surfing the web, but benefit others in need, without even having to alter your habits?

Surf the Web and Donate to Charity!

Tab for a Cause is a non-profit organization founded at the beginning of this year, which allows users to donate to charity by simply using the internet! Seriously. No sign up, no personal information. All you have to do is install a browser extension.

After installing the Tab for a Cause extension (currently for Firefox and Chrome), you can click on the application icon in the upper right hand corner of the browser and configure how many of the tabs you have open are redirected to a donation page that raises money for charity.

When you open a new tab, Tab for a Cause redirects you to a page that has banners from advertising partners. 100% of the money earned from advertising revenue is then donated to the charity you choose!

While each tab you open only generates about a fraction of a penny, it adds up. I open up hundreds of tabs daily, and there are thousands of others who do the same. As an example, I opened up seven different tabs while using the internet for about 2 minutes.

The result was a two cent increase for a Save the Children charity. While that may seem like nothing, a few pennies a day can actually make a difference if enough people use the extension, so tell all your friends too. Personally, I spend about 7 hours a day on the internet, so this application is a great way for me to help out others in need while surfing the web.

You can find more information about how it works and the different charities that they support over on their website. Download Tab for a Cause and click away...all for a great cause!
